How do I check if a company has a PAGA notice?

Use the state's free PAGA case search at cadir.my.salesforce-sites.com/PagaSearch: choose PAGA Notice as the submission type, set a date range, and enter the company's name. It lists the matching notices it holds, and can print them to PDF or Excel.

Step by step

1. Open the PAGA case search. It is run by the Department of Industrial Relations, one of the LWDA's departments.
2. Under Submission Type, choose PAGA Notice. The search takes one submission type at a time, and Amended Notice is a separate type, so an amended notice needs a second search.
3. Set the Date Range of Submission, From and To. Both dates are required, and the search finds only filings whose submission date falls in that range, so make it cover the whole period you want to check. The search page says how far back its online records go.
4. Type the company's name in Business, Lawfirm, or Individual Name. The search can also be narrowed by the employer's city or ZIP code.
5. Choose Search. Each result shows the LWDA number, the submission type and date, the employer's name, city and ZIP code, the number of impacted employees and the plaintiff's law firm, among other columns.
6. To keep the results, use Print to PDF or Print to Excel on the results page.

What the results cover

The search says it includes most PAGA claims filed with the LWDA, so a search that finds nothing is not proof that no notice was filed. What a PAGA notice is, and who files one, is in the glossary.
