ABC license applications

New alcohol license applications filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, cut by county and sent weekly. Each row carries the report date, the license type and what ABC calls it, whether it is an on sale type, the action code, the applicant business, the premises address, the city, the county, the ZIP and the status. Over the sixty days to 2 September 2026 ABC published 1,359 applications across California on 52 report dates, and 659 of them were on sale types.

What you get

• Geography: one county.
• Columns: report date, license type, license type description, on sale, application type, applicant business, premises address, city, county, ZIP, status. Nothing else.
• Every row is a business record. We drop rows where the business name looks like a person. We blank law firm entries that are a person's name or a self-represented filer. We blank email addresses and phone numbers in every column except the business phone column.
• Source: California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, new applications report.
• ABC publishes a report every business day. The feed collects the week and sends it on Monday.
• On sale types are marked. 41 and 47 are eating places, 42 and 48 are public premises, and those four are a restaurant or a bar opening or changing hands. The other types on the report are wholesalers, importers, winegrowers, caterers and off sale shops, and they are in the file as well.
• The application type is ABC's own code. ORI is a new license, PER moves an existing one to a new person, PRM moves it to a new premises, and PER/PRM does both.
• The applicant is the trading name where the applicant filed one, and the business name where it did not. ABC records the applicant as a primary owner, so where that owner is a person and there is no trading name, the row is left out.
• The email carries the CSV as an attachment and a download link that works for fourteen days.
